About giclées

When I finish and sign an oil painting, I let it dry for several weeks (depending on how thick the oil paint and how many layers I’ve applied). After it has sufficiently dried I apply a matte varnish and then I have the canvas professionally photographed and reproduced in a variety of giclée sizes.

Each reproduction is printed on a wide-format EPSON® SureColor® inkjet printer specifically designed for giclée output which retains the color, detail and richness found in the original.

Original and giclée comparison

My giclées are custom-printed on thick canvas which adds to their quality and durability, making each piece almost appear to be an original. (See comparison above) Giclées are the best reproduction of original art available today and make investing in art you love more affordable.

I have a few sizes offered in the ordering process, however, if you wish to order a custom size, here’s how (below).

Ordering custom size giclées

If you are looking for a specific size to fit in that perfect place in your home office (or anywhere you like to feel inspired), I’m happy to offer custom size giclées upon request. Here’s what you should know before ordering a custom size giclée:

  1. Make note of the original oil painting size. This is important when requesting a custom size that’s larger than the original.

  2. Any enlargement will affect the image quality. In enlargements, you will begin to notice much greater detail in the canvas texture, paint texture, and other artifacts that may impact the look you are seeking. However, my giclées hold their clarity in enlargements up to a specific percent. I will let you know if your requested size may degrade the quality of the image.

  3. I will quote you the price upon your request. Then, I will take your payment information or I will add the option to the online shop.
